Árevalo was born in Armero Tolima, Colombia know as Jose Árevalo or Master Árevalo.
He is a self-made artist who explore and placed his imagination on acrylic media, his style is characterized by use of color, exploration of traits ans strokes through brush handling, Árevalo is an excellent example of the impressionist, abstract surrealism trend in his country Colombia.
Color plays a fundamental role in integrating the structures of is design.
He has known for his “BUHOS” Owls. His first exhibition was on 1976 at Galeria Avianca de Unicentro (Bogota, Colombia) with 30 acrylics that included “Bodegones” and of course his most markable stamp “Buhos”.
